Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants used US weapons left in Afghanistan during the attack in Balochistan’s Zhob, according to people acquainted with the situation.
In a clearance operation in northern Balochistan, five terrorists were killed and nine Pakistan Army soldiers were slain after militants launched a “dastardly attack” on the Zhob garrison.
“In total, five terrorists were killed during the operation,” according to the ISPR. However, at least nine security personnel were martyred in the exchange of fire, according to the report.
TTP terrorists dressed in US soldier costumes, helmets, and hand gloves were armed with the latest US weapons, including M16 Assault rifles.
Terrorists can be seen dead in the uniforms of US soldiers in photos released following the cleansing operation in Zhob.
The use of US weapons by TTP terrorists has certainly generated questions about how the most recent guns, uniforms, and other items ended up in the hands of TTP militants.
After the proscribed TTP broke its truce with the government in November last year, Pakistan saw an increase in terror activity, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
