ISLAMABAD: Senate Majority Leader Ishaq Dar has urged the National Finance Commission (NFC) to address the issue of equitable provincial funding.
Dar, addressing the Senate, argued that the Constitution requires an update to the NFC every five years.
The senator, who is a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a former finance minister, said that there was a story circulating regarding his party’s plans connected to the 18th amendment.
According to the article, the PML-N manifesto committee was instructed to review the 18th Amendment once more. The manifesto committee has not been given any such mandate. According to Senator Dar, there is no issue with the 18th Amendment.
