ISLAMABAD:
Faisal Vawda’s Senate seat will be restored, according to a notice from the Pakistani Election Commission (ECP).
The Election Commission has reinstated the notice of the former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader’s win in the general seat of Sindh on March 10 in light of the Supreme Court‘s (SC) ruling. The Election Commission had previously removed the notification of the Senate seat’s vacancy.
The Election Commission withdrew the notice of Nisar Khuhro’s Senate seat win after announcing Vawda’s reinstatement to the position.
Vawda must retire in accordance with the ruling of the supreme court upon the reinstatement of his seat, and the ECP will then organize elections for the general seat.
