SSGC increases gas load shedding in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has increased the timing of gas load-shedding.

According to an SSGC spokeswoman, gas delivery in Karachi would be interrupted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

According to the statement, SSGC is experiencing a 200 MMCFD gas shortage, which has resulted in an increase in gas shutdowns.

It should be remembered that Karachi already has gas load shedding from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., and with the addition of a three-hour closure schedule, Karachiites will be without power for 11 hours during the day.

Furthermore, concerns about diminishing gas pressures are appearing from a number of places, adding to the people’s misery.

Meanwhile, Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh stated in a statement that the people of the province are suffering as a result of Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGC) stubbornness.

Sui Southern authorities should immediately assure an uninterrupted gas supply in Karachi, he added. Gas shutdown throughout the day will not be accepted under any circumstances.
