Shaheen Shah Afridi, a fast bowler for the Pakistan national cricket team, turned 23 years old today (Thursday) like he does every year on April 6.
The 23-year-old cricket prodigy celebrated his birthday with his family, including Shahid Afridi, his father-in-law, and a former captain of the country.
They celebrated the event by sharing a birthday cake and taking some special photos.
Shahid Afridi posted some joyful photos from Shaheen’s birthday celebration on social media. He posted a sweet picture with the caption: “You’re welcome, Shaheen. Remain joyful.”
Shaheen Shah Afridi’s youth and talent continue to be a huge benefit to the Pakistani national cricket team as he advances in his cricketing career. He continues to show that he is not only a gifted athlete but also a devoted and appreciated family member with each passing year.
The birthday boy has been included in Pakistan’s squads for the series against New Zealand, which will be contested in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi from April 14 to May 7, marking his comeback to international cricket after a four-month absence.
Following the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, Shaheen missed five Test matches and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against England and New Zealand while he recovered from a knee injury, he had acquired in the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle in July.
The ACC Asia Cup in the UAE, the second Test against Sri Lanka, the ODI series against the Netherlands, and the seven-match T20I series in Pakistan were all missed as a result.
In Pakistan Super League 8, the rising cricket star, who has taken 99 Test, 62 ODI, and 58 T20I wickets, mounted a miraculous return by motivating Lahore Qalandars to become the first team to successfully defend the championship.
Shaheen not only contributed greatly with the ball and bat, taking 19 wickets at an economy rate of 9.13 and scoring 133 runs at a strike rate of 168.35.
