 Sedition case against PTI leader Shandana Gulzar dismissed

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani dismissed a sedition case against former PTI MNA Shandana Gulzar on Friday.

On March 14, Justice Kayani reserved her decision on Ms. Gulzar’s petition.

On February 2, a case was filed against the PTI leader in Islamabad’s women’s police station for inciting people and spreading hatred against institutions.

Sections 153A, 124A, and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with sedition, incitement, and spreading hatred, were invoked by the police.

According to the FIR, Ms. Gulzar made anti-institutional remarks in an interview with a TV channel, attempting to spread unrest and chaos.
