
The Sindh government stated on Monday that all educational institutions will be closed on April 18 (Tuesday).
The Government of Sindh’s School, Education, and Literacy Department issued a notification in this regard.
“In accordance with the decision of the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, held on 22nd February 2022, all government and private educational institutions shall remain closed on Tuesday 18th April 2023 on account of Shab-e-Qadar (27th Ramadan, 1444),” the notification stated.
Shab-e-Qadar (power night) will be observed across the country tonight, with all believers seeking forgiveness from Allah.
It should also be mentioned that the federal government has declared a five-day holiday in honor of Eid ul Fitr.
According to an interior ministry announcement, all government, semi-government, and private organizations, companies, banks, and educational institutions would be closed from April 21 to 25 for Eid.
Ramadan 2023 began on March 23, following considerable uncertainty during the moonsighting meeting.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene on April 20 for the viewing of the Eid ul Fitr crescent moon, according to a religious affairs ministry statement.
According to the statement, the meeting will be placed at the religious affairs ministry in Islamabad and will be presided over by Ruet-e-Halal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
The zonal committees will convene at various sites around the country, according to the announcement.
