Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned an Israeli commando attack on Jenin, a Palestinian town.
According to a statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Ministry, Saudi Arabia rejected serious violations of international law committed by Israeli occupation forces and called on the international community to take responsibility for ending the occupation, stopping Israeli escalation and aggression, and providing the necessary protection for civilians.
The act was also denounced by Kuwait and Oman.
UN and Arab mediators said they were in negotiations with Israel and Palestinian factions with the goal of preventing an escalation following the incident in Jenin, one of the northern West Bank regions where Israeli operations have escalated in the previous year.
