Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain of Quetta Gladiators (QG), praised Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain for their bowling in the final overs of his team’s match against the Karachi Kings on Saturday.

PSL 2023: Sarfaraz praises Hasnain and Naseem for their excellent bowling in the final innings

After the game, Sarfaraz spoke to a news conference and remarked, “The manner Naseem and Hasnain bowled the 18th and 19th overs deserves praise. In the final five overs, we bowled superbly to contain them.”

With the experienced veteran Shoaib Malik and the youthful batsman Irfan Khan Niazi at the crease, Karachi needed 37 runs off 18 balls. In the 18th and 19th overs, Hasnain and Naseem demonstrated excellent death-bowling abilities to lead Quetta to their first victory of the year.

Shah only conceded six runs in the 18th over, while Hasnain only let up seven in the 19th, greatly enhancing Quetta’s chances of winning.

In response to a question on Quetta’s top order’s performance in both games, the captain said: “Cricket is recognized for being played aggressively by our top order. According to their strengths, we have provided them with a plan.

As everyone is aware, Jason Roy played last year. In the upcoming bouts, he and others will return.” Within the first six overs against KK, Quetta lost their first four wickets.

But, because of a brilliant century from New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill, the Gladiators overcame the Kings by six runs and amassed a decent total of 168 in their 20 overs.

The captain praised the New Zealand batsman’s performance, calling it “the best inning PSL thus far.”

Three straight losses for the Karachi Kings

Karachi has now dropped each of its first three games after this defeat to the Gladiators.

The Kings were limited to 162-5 in their 20 overs while chasing 169.

The format Shoaib Malik was unable to lead his team to victory despite scoring 71 runs in 49 balls while remaining unblemished. Eight fours and a six were thrown into his inning.

The Karachi Kings’ next match is scheduled for tomorrow against their longtime rivals the Lahore Qalanders at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
