Raids on houses of PTI office-bearers in Karachi

KARACHI: Police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf secretary-general of the Karachi chapter, Arslan Taj, in an overnight raid.

Sindh police ‘raided’ the homes of party leaders including Khurram Sher Zaman, Arslan Taj, and Raja Azhar, according to PTI Sindh spokesperson Shehzad Qureshi.

Raja Azhar and Khurram Sher Zaman were not present at their residence during the raid, according to Qureshi, who also stated that Arslan Taj was apprehended during the raid.

PTI Sindh spokesperson added that the raid on the police party had ‘threatened’ the families of the party leaders.

He demanded that Sindh’s Chief Minister and Inspector General release Arslan Taj immediately.

Prior to the arrival of Imran Khan’s convoy of PTI long march, Islamabad police conducted raids to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf office-bearers.

According to sources, the capital police raided the homes of PTI’s local office-bearers. It was learned that police were planning to arrest those who were collecting funds for PTI long march.
