According to a 2023 survey released this week, Singapore Changi Airport has reclaimed the title of “World’s Best Airport” after a two-year loss to Qatar’s Hamad International airport. Istanbul International Airport (IST) was ranked second in the region after Doha, and the majority of Arab Gulf airports improved their rankings.
According to this year’s SKYTRAX World Airport Awards, IST has risen from eighth to sixth place. Singapore Changi Airport has risen two places from last year to take the top spot, with Doha’s Hamad International Airport now in second place. The report did not go into detail about the factors that contributed to the airport’s improved status.
Singapore Changi Airport serves as the country’s primary airport and is one of Asia’s busiest transportation hubs. It is one of the busiest airports in the world, serving over 68.3 million passengers in 2019 and connecting to over 300 cities.
