
LAHORE: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former state minister Zartaj Gul for questioning on ‘corruption’ charges.
Zartaj Gul was summoned on April 10, but she did not appear before the anti-corruption squad, therefore ACE Punjab summoned her again on April 19 at 10 a.m.
Zartaj Gul is suspected of collecting bribes to award contracts for various development projects to her “frontmen.”
According to the notice, Zartaj Gul and her husband Humayun Akhund used to take a ten percent commission for providing funding for development programs in her constituency.
The couple is also accused of altering development programs that cost the government a lot of money, according to the Punjab ACE.
The ACE has also requested records pertaining to the development programs and has ordered her to appear before it on April 19.
It should be mentioned that various Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders are facing corruption accusations, including Pervaiz Elahi, former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, former SAPM Usman Dar, and others.
