PTI’s demand: Call general elections before December 20

Fawad Chaudhry, the head of the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), gave the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) till December 20 to “come up with a definitive formula” for elections.

Fawad criticized the competing political figures on Twitter, saying they “don’t want elections yet they don’t know how to rule the country.”He said, “This is a tough and demanding task for which their leadership is inadequate. The country is not controlled by merely appointing ministers and paying visits abroad.

Pakistan requires stability, he continued.

The PTI leader stated, “The Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) legislatures would be dissolved and the process of holding general elections in Punjab and K-P will be finished before March 20 if the PDM does not present a definitive formula for the country-wide general elections by December 20.

He said, “In this regard, we have the complete trust of the allies.”

Imran Khan, the head of the PTI and a former prime minister, had earlier said that he was adhering to his plan to dissolve the provincial assemblies in December in an effort to compel the current administration to call early elections.
