ISLAMABAD: Fawad Chaudhry connected the resurgence of terrorism on Wednesday to what he called the “reversal of PTI government’s stance on Afghanistan” amid an increase in terrorist attacks throughout the nation.
The former minister of information claimed during a news conference in Islamabad that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was ignorant of the circumstances in Afghanistan. He continued by saying that Islamabad would also suffer if the situation in Kabul worsened.
Imran Khan was the “sole respectable Pakistani leader,” according to Mr. Chaudhry since his “hands were not covered with the blood” of Afghans.
He also said that talking things out rather than using bombs and missiles was the best course of action.
The PTI representative also brought up the predicament in the old Fata region, claiming that since it was combined with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, no funds have been allocated by the government for the improvement of the tribal regions.
He continued by saying that the cabinet was never briefed on the situation in Afghanistan or the merging of the former Fata region. He said that the interior minister did not even travel to Wana to learn about the issues faced by the residents.
