PTI leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed arrested from Lahore

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mehmood-ur-Rasheed was arrested in Lahore on Sunday, according to his secretary.

He stated that Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed was arrested on Saturday while on his way to court for a hearing.

The arrests were made in response to violent protests, burning, and damage by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activists following Imran Khan’s imprisonment.

Earlier, police detained Dr. Yasmin Rashid, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), from a hospital.

Yasmin, who was still being held at Kot Lakhpat Jail, had previously seen a severe deterioration in her health. PTI leader was brought to the Services Hospital in Lahore, where she is being treated.

The Lahore High Court recently ordered the immediate release of 17 PTI women workers, including former Punjab health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid.

Following the arrest of party chairman Imran Khan, several PTI leaders, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Jamsheed Iqbal Cheema, Musarrat Cheema, Falak Naz Chitrali and Malika Bukhari, Shireen Mazari, Qasim Suri, Ali Muhammad Khan, and others, were arrested for ‘provoking’ people for violent protests.
