LAHORE: Fawad Chaudhry, the head of the PTI, reiterated on Friday that provincial assemblies will be dissolved “in any case.”
He explained to reporters that Parvez Elahi‘s undertaking was technical. The PTI, however, disagrees with the commitment made to the court. In either scenario, assemblies will be dissolved.
He remarked, “We are anticipating how long the chief secretary would take to reveal the identities of individuals who put pressure on him.”
He stated that the Punjab Assembly will question the governor and chief secretary of Punjab over who requested whom to sign this announcement. He stated that the commitment made by the CM of Punjab before the court was valid until the next day.
He made it quite clear that the PTI disagreed with the explanation provided to the court and that it thought assemblies ought to be dissolved.
He said that the PTI was prepared to ask for the vote of confidence and had no objections to it. A later date was required for this directive, he said, primarily because certain PTI MPs were away.
