ISLAMABAD: Leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to sources, Aftab Sherpao has asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the grain scarcity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He stated that the delivery of wheat to KP has been halted by Punjab.

On Saturday, the premier convened a high-level meeting to address the issue of flour scarcity in KP. The chief secretary of Punjab, the secretary of food, and other officials have been summoned to the forthcoming session.

Sherpao also informed PM Sharif of reservations regarding the digital census. The premier told Aftab Sherpao that his misgivings about the census would be addressed.

According to sources, earlier in the day, former premier and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Quaid Nawaz Sharif proposed holding a power display outside the Supreme Court (SC) during the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leadership meetings.

Today in Islamabad, the PDM chief’s session was presided over by Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Nawaz Sharif proposed a power show outside the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday during the hearing.

According to sources, some PDM leaders expressed concern of confrontation if a rally was organized. It has been learned that PDM leaders would meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.

During a press conference, Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed that ‘criminal’ Imran Khan is being shielded despite being jailed in an Rs60 billion corruption case.
