LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with King Charles III and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the margins of a summit of Commonwealth leaders on Friday.
PM Shehbaz Sharif congratulated both British dignitaries on the superb preparations for the complex two-day rituals marking the coronation of the new King.
The premier also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the United Kingdom for its extraordinary support in the aftermath of last year’s devastating floods in Pakistan.
He urged that both countries strengthen bilateral cooperation in a variety of areas.
In this context, PM Sharif recommended the formation of a joint commission led by the leaders of the two countries.
King Charles III and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak both expressed enthusiasm for further improving bilateral relations between the two nations and complimented the Pakistani population in the UK for its contribution to the country’s growth.
