PM Shahbaz Sharif slams Imran Khan for allegations against Army chief

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif slammed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s statement regarding Army Chief, saying it reflected his unhealthy and compulsive thinking.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif claimed on Twitter that PTI Chief’s remarks regarding the Army Chief display his unhealthy and obsessed mentality.

He claimed that General Asim Munir, the then-Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), exposed Imran Khan’s corruption, after which PTI chairman accused the COAS of betraying him.

PM Shahbaz Sharif held PTI chairman accountable for the terrible and disgusting acts of terrorism committed by PTI activists following his detention from the IHC.

The PM went on to say that the damage to martyrs’ monuments and the attack on national installations mark an all-time low in our politics.

He stated that the nation stands by its armed forces and that any attempt to weaken the forces will be foiled.

It is worth noting that former Prime Minister Imran Khan indicated to the foreign media before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that he has never thought anything improper about General Asim Munir and has committed to preserving excellent relations with the COAS even after assuming power.

According to the former premier, certain persons are misinforming the army chief about him. He went on to say that he had already conveyed a message to the army head.
Khan denied receiving any type of relief from the judiciary. He said he was kidnapped and was later served with an arrest warrant in jail. “I learned that people were killed after I arrived at court.” I had already warned you about the ramifications of my arrest.”
