
LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to the under-construction Lahore bridge and CBD underpass on Sunday to evaluate the progress and direct for quick completion.
The prime minister was informed during his visit to the Lahore bridge building site that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) project of Rs1712 million began in 2021, but was delayed for two years due to the granting of a no-objection certificate.
The prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the pace of work and asked him to finish the Lahore overhead bridge project in one month.
The prime minister directed that legal action be taken against the officer responsible for the delay and desired completion.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi, the chief secretary, and other senior officials joined the prime minister.
The prime minister also went to the CBD underpass and called the wait unjust.
He questioned the use of a third party for validation and instructed the procurement of a renowned third party at the expense of a construction company.
The prime minister directed that the project be completed as soon as possible by urging appropriate officials to provide extra incentives to the personnel.
