LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is expected to get a vote of confidence from the state legislature next week.
According to reports, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) have agreed to hold a joint parliamentary meeting on January 2.

All members should ensure their attendance at the parliamentary meeting, and those who are overseas should return to Pakistan.

According to reports, the parliamentary party conference will also determine the approach for Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s vote of confidence in the Punjab Assembly.
Legal professionals already informed Imran Khan, a former prime minister, that the Punjab Assembly cannot be dissolved before January 11.

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was informed by his legal counsel about the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly in light of the Lahore High Court ruling.
The former premier was also advised that following Speaker Sibtain‘s decision, a no-confidence resolution had lost its legal standing.
