On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi inaugurated the 100 MW Polan-Gabd power transmission line project from Iran to Gwadar at the Pakistan-Iran border crossing site of Mand-Pishin.
The two leaders also dedicated the Mand-Pishin crossing point’s food market.
The Polan-Gabd Electricity Transmission Line is critical in addressing the region’s energy needs, particularly those of households and businesses, by bringing in an additional 100 MW of electricity from Iran.
The simultaneous opening demonstrates Pakistan and Iran’s strong commitment to improving the lives of citizens of the neighboring provinces of Balochistan and Sistan-o-Baluchestan, respectively. It also represents a big step forward in the two countries bilateral ties.
In his remarks at the occasion, Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi stated that bilateral ties between Iran and Pakistan are increasing by the day. He complimented the people of Iran and Pakistan on the completion of historic projects.
Iran is willing to collaborate with Pakistan in the energy industry, according to the Iranian president, who also stated that border markets will aid in growing bilateral trade between the two countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Iranian president and stated that the opening of the border projects has marked the beginning of a new era in relations between Islamabad and Tehran.
PM Sharif has promised that both countries will open six more border marketplaces. In addition, the premier asked Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi to visit Pakistan.
