Pakistan condemns raid on Al Aqsa by Israeli forces

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday vehemently denounced the Israeli soldiers’ raid on the Al Aqsa Mosque on the third day of Ramadan, which drove away worshippers and violated the mosque’s sanctity as one of the most sacred places for Muslims.

The FO expressed concern over such despicable attacks on the Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli occupation troops during Ramadan in a statement.

Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man during a raid in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, the first day of Ramadan.

It was highlighted that such actions not only gravely violated the Palestinian people’s fundamental right to freedom of religion or belief, but also offended the religious sensibilities of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.

“Israeli occupation troops’ indiscriminate use of force on helpless Palestinians violates all laws and standards pertaining to human rights and humanitarianism. Israel has violated its own recent pledge to uphold the sanctity of Ramazan by conducting such unlawful searches, according to the FO statement.

The FO stated that Pakistan urged the international community to act quickly to stop Israeli violations, which had gotten particularly out of hand since the start of the year.

“We reaffirm our unwavering support for the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause, and we reiterate our call for the establishment of a viable, independent, and contiguous Palestinian State with pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital as the only just, all-encompassing, and long-lasting solution to the Palestinian question, in accordance with the relevant OIC and UN resolutions.”
