Only authorized persons allowed in Parliament Lodges: panel

ISLAMABAD:

On Tuesday, a Senate committee gave the relevant agencies a directive to make sure that only authorized individuals slept at the Parliament Lodges’ residential apartments. The committee made a point of pressing for a quick start on the Parliament Lodges’ extra block, which is now under construction, during a meeting that was presided over by Sardar Muhammad Shafiq Tareen.

The committee evaluated how well the suggestions presented during the meeting on September 8, 2022, were being implemented. The committee requested a list of the lodges’ occupants.

The panel also looked into the reasons for the delay and assessed how the upkeep of the family suites was coming along. It was said that the main reason for the delay was the inability to distribute the money. The committee emphasized that the lodges may get additional cash to complete unfinished work.

Senators Falak Naz, Rubina Khalid, Shahadat Awan, Tahir Bizenjo, Dr. Afnanullah Khan, and Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary were in attendance, along with senior Capital Development Authority officials (CDA).
