Mufti Abdul Shakoor death: Police prepare initial investigation report

ISLAMABAD: The Secretariat police station has opened an investigation into the death of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor.

On Saturday night, the minister was killed in a road accident in Islamabad when his vehicle was hit by a speeding Vigo.

The case was filed on the allegation of Haji Qudratullah, who stated in his FIR statement that Mufti Abdul Shakoor came to his residence before Iftar.

The minister left his apartment in Parliament Lodges at 8:22 pm and around 10 pm the religious minister’s chauffeur told Qudaratullah’s employee about the terrible road accident.

The FIR stated that a Vigo driver hit Abdul Shakoor’s car while driving recklessly, resulting in the religious minister’s death on the spot and that the event should be thoroughly probed.

Meanwhile, the police have created a first inquiry report regarding Mufti Abdul Shakoor’s death, according to the source. The car that collided with the JUI-F’s vehicle was traveling at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour, compared to the set speed of 60 kilometers per hour on Constitutional Avenue.

The car that hit the federal minister’s vehicle was part of a team led by a poultry industry figure. The Vigo had no technological flaws, according to the sources.

According to the Motor Vehicle Examiner’s findings, the signals were turned off at the time of the accident.
