LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former SAPM Shahbaz Gill permission to travel to the United States (US) for four weeks on Wednesday.
A three-member bench led by the LHC chief justice heard Gill’s petition challenging his inclusion on the Exit Control Lists (ECL).
After hearing arguments, the court granted Shahbaz Gill permission to travel abroad for one year and ordered that his name be removed from the ECL.
The court also requested a response from the federal government regarding Mr. Gill’s inclusion in the ECL
The name of the former special assistant to the prime minister was added to the exit list last November at the request of the Islamabad administration.
It is worth noting that a case was filed against Gill at the Kohsar police station in Islamabad. He was accused of dividing the state institution.
