
PESHAWAR: A landslide at Torkham Export Road in the Khyber district of KP buried several vehicles and containers loaded with commodities.
According to reports, a fire broke out in several trucks following the landslide near the Pakistan-Afghan border, but it was quickly extinguished by rescue workers.
The relief operation is being overseen by Deputy Commissioner Khyber Abdul Nasir Khan. Rescue 1122 teams from Khyber, Peshawar, Nowshehra, Charsadda, and Mardan have arrived on the scene and are assisting with the relief effort with heavy machinery.
Khan stated that an emergency has been declared at Landi Kotal Hospital and that the actual loss would not be known until the rubble is removed.
A landslide devastated a section of Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan Road in Karachi’s Kati Pahari hilltop area last year.
A video showed numerous automobiles stranded due to the landslide, while a crowd filmed videos of the road track being struck by massive rocks and slabs.
Police and rescue services were called to the scene when a boulder landed on Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan’s route near Kati Pahari in Karachi. According to police, no one was injured in the landslide.
