LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi ordered the purchase of 300 new hybrid buses for the provincial capital Lahore on Sunday.
The chief minister ordered the acquisition of new hybrid buses for Lahore city and the creation of extra bus terminals while chairing a meeting of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority at his office.
The CM ordered the reactivation of the Punjab Transport Company and authorized the repair and maintenance of Pakistan Metro Bus System buses in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, as well as the purchase of new buses.
The decision was made during the meeting to hire NRTC to handle automatic fare collecting.
