LAHORE: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has been arrested in connection with the death of PTI activist Ali Bilal alias Zil-e-Shah.
The death of Zil-e-Shah has been attributed to a traffic accident, according to Lahore police.
According to details, a case has been filed at the Sarwar Road Police Station against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and other leaders, including Yasmin Rashid and others, on the complaint of the investigating officer for concealing facts and evidence regarding Ali Bilal’s death.
The police registered a case based on the statement of the accused who took Ali Bilal to the hospital, according to the FIR. According to the FIR, after learning of Shah’s death, the accused fled the hospital.
The vehicle that hit Zil-e-Shah belonged to a private company, and the administration blamed Imran Khan for the accident.
Meanwhile, PTI claims that Ali Bilal, also known as Zil-e-Shah to his comrades, died as a result of police violence and torture after a crackdown on party workers and supporters protesting near PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park on Wednesday.
