PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has prohibited teachers from participating in elections and exams.

According to details, the KP education department has issued a notification regarding teachers who are engaged in census work.

They directed the relevant departments not to include teachers in any training because a large number of teachers are already involved in the census.

The letter also stated that teacher appointments and postings would be halted until the census was completed.

In addition, the education department has sent letters to all boards, directors, and other relevant officials.

Earlier, Pakistan’s first-ever digital population and housing census was launched by Chief Census Commissioner Dr. Naeem uz Zafar.

On January 13, 2022, the Council of Common Interest ordered a digital census in the country.

For the census field operation, approximately 121,000 field enumerators were deployed. “The process will be completed by April 1 and the data will be released by April 30, which will then be approved by the Council of Common Interests (CCI),” a Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) spokesperson previously stated.
