Juventus overpower 'brave' Roma, are just two points behind table toppers Inter

Juventus is now two points behind Inter Milan, who is currently in first place in Serie A. They beat “brave” AS Roma 1-0 at home, and Christian Pulisic scored a goal in the second half to help AC Milan beat Sassuolo 1-0 on Saturday to end the year on a high note.

The American broke the tie in the 59th minute by skillfully chipping the ball over Andrea Consigli, the Sassuolo custodian, after getting Ismael Bennacer’s pass that split the defence.

The most goals scored by an American in a single Serie A season by an American player was held by Weston McKennie until Pulisic scored six goals this season.

With 36 points, Milan is in third place, nine points behind leaders Inter. This is because they tied 1-1 at Genoa on Friday. They are 16th with 16 points.

Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw, and Pierre Kalulu were all hurt, so Milan boss Stefano Pioli played with a weak back line.

“I think we did the right thing today, but we can play and make things even more.” “I’m proud of how we played, how hard we worked, and how we won this game,” Pioli told DAZN.

“This is a win for the team.” During my time here, this group has never given up when things got tough.

Early on, the home team’s goal was ruled out because Olivier Giroud was not onside when he crossed the ball for Bennacer to score.

In another Milan goal try, Rafael Leao’s finish was ruled out because he was offside during the buildup.

Soon after, Domenico Berardi’s looping shot gave Sassuolo their best chance, but keeper Mike Maignan had to dive to tip it over the bar.
