Joint parliament session to be held today

ISLAMABAD: The joint parliament session will begin at 3 p.m. today under the chairmanship of National Assembly (NA) Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

During today’s joint parliament session, lawmakers from both houses will debate issues concerning the economy, security, and law and order.

PTI senators have already announced their intention to attend today’s session of parliament. Prior to today’s announcement, PTI lawmakers had announced their intention to boycott the session.

Earlier in the day, it was learned that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had decided to attend a joint session of parliament, which had been postponed until March 27.

According to sources close to the situation, PTI senators will attend today’s joint session of parliament.

In this regard, Senate opposition leader Dr. Saleem Shahbaz called a meeting of PTI parliamentarians. According to sources, the session will begin at 2 p.m. today at Parliament House. The meeting will develop a joint strategy for joint legislative sessions.

It is worth noting that President Dr. Arif Alvi has called a session of the National Assembly for Monday at 12:00 noon, while the joint session of parliament will resume at 3:00 pm. Both sessions will cover issues of national importance
