Israeli forces carried out their most recent fatal raid on the volatile city of Jenin on Thursday, according to Palestinian health authorities, killing three Palestinians. The violence in the occupied West Bank is on the rise.
Following a string of murderous attacks on Israelis, Israeli soldiers have conducted nearly daily operations across the region in recent months, many of them fatal.
The Israeli occupation’s violence in Jenin this morning claimed the lives of three civilians, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
A request for comment from AFP about claims that troops opened fire on an ambulance carrying one of the injured was not met by the Israeli military.
According to the Islamic Jihad movement, intense battles between their members and Israeli soldiers were occurring in Jenin.
The deceased were identified as Atta Shalabi, Sidqi Zakarneh, and Tariq Damej by Jenin’s Ibn Sina hospital.
The Israeli army claimed to have conducted many operations overnight throughout the West Bank to capture wanted individuals in Bethlehem and Ramallah, among other places.
The Palestinian Authority and its security forces ostensibly oversee Palestinian towns and localities in the West Bank. At least 150 Palestinians and 26 Israelis have been killed this year amid an uptick in violence between Israel and the West Bank.
The death toll from Israeli operations in the Jenin region includes more than 40 Palestinians, including terrorists and renowned Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh as well as children as young as 12.
The world community is concerned about the issue.
On Saturday, the European Union expressed its “grave worry” at the rise in violence.” All parties must do everything in their ability to de-escalate the situation,” a spokeswoman for the US State Department said.
