Ishaq Dar says will support leadership’s choice of caretaker PM

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that he will accept any choice made by the leadership about the caretaker Prime Minister (PM).

According to information, Ishaq Dar stated that the discussion about a caretaker prime minister is premature at this moment. He noted that the caretaker Prime Minister will be chosen by the coalition government and the PDM.

The finance minister stated that the country cannot function without strengthening the powers of the caretaker prime minister, but the caretaker government requires 90 days rather than 60 days.

Ishaq Dar insisted that he had informed the public that the government will not default and that the rupee’s real worth against the dollar is Rs 224.

He also stated that parliament had already made a judgment on the five-year disqualification. Nawaz Sharif and other major politicians have completed their five-year disqualification sentence. Nawaz Sharif will come to Pakistan and vote in elections, he said.

Earlier, the Defense Minister and key leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Khawaja Asif ruled out Finance Minister Ishaq Dar becoming a caretaker prime minister (PM).

He claimed that the federal government made no indication of naming Dar as caretaker premier. “A reputable journalist in the media leaked the report.”

It is worth noting that reports have begun to circulate that Ishaq Dar is likely to become caretaker prime minister (PM) as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) mobilizes to persuade coalition partners in this respect.

Ishaq Dar is the current finance minister and a close supporter of former Prime Minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.
