Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, on Friday, calls the coalition government to discuss the election date with his party and threatened to dissolve the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies if they refused.
Khan warned that the country is rapidly heading toward default in his presentation to the parliamentary party, blaming the dire economic condition for PTI’s persistent call for new elections.
The coalition administration isn’t ready to speak about sudden elections because they are afraid of the outcomes, he added, adding that if we don’t move toward elections, there won’t be stability in the nation. Khan, who last week called off his protracted march to Islamabad, had announced quitting rallies around the nation, including in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The dissolution of assemblies in both provinces has been approved by the party leadership
According to PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry, the final decision will be made following additional consultations.
