
The processing period for Pakistani applicants’ temporary resident visas (TRV) has been shortened by the Canadian government.
Sean Fraser, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, announced the development via a tweet.
Sean Fraser, Canada’s minister of immigration, refugees, and citizenship, stated that Pakistani nationals will be able to obtain a visit visa to Canada in 60 days as opposed to 802 days.
He mentioned that from 55,000 to only 15,000 applications were waiting to be processed for Pakistani TRVs.
Fraser went on to say that the Canadian government also intended to open a new processing center in Islamabad to increase the region’s capacity for processing and interviews.
In his tweet, he continued, “We’ve drastically decreased the backlog for Pakistani TRVs, from 55K to less than 15K.
