ICC decides to introduce 'stop clock' rule in ODI, T20I cricket

Web Desk: DUBAI – The International Cricket Council’s Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) has decided to test a stop clock in men’s ODI and T20I cricket from December 2023 to April 2024.

Cricinfo said in a news release that the clock will be used to control how long it takes between overs.

“A 5-run penalty will be given the third time in an innings if the bowling team is not ready to bowl the next over within 60 seconds of the end of the previous over,” it said.
