Government increases SC judges’ Salary via presidential decree The wages of judges and CJP have increased by over 20%.

On Tuesday morning, Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani signed an order raising the pay of Supreme Court justices, including Pakistan’s Chief Justice.
The base pay for Pakistan’s top justice has raised by about 20% to Rs. 1,229,189.
Regular judges’ base pay has been increased by 20% to Rs. 1,161,163.

According to information recently provided to the Public Accounts Committee, the Pakistani chief judge was previously receiving a gross  Salary remuneration of Rs1,527,399 per month. Each judge on the nation’s highest court was previously earning Rs1,470,711 per year, according to information in the PAC.

The decree further states that the new salary are to be considered to have begun on July 1.

As acting president while President Arif Alvi is away for the Hajj, Sadiq Sanjrani issued the directive.

The presidential order states, “The salary of judges of the Supreme Court Order, 2020 is hereby repealed.”
