Google opens App Growth Lab in Pakistan

KARACHI: Google announced on Wednesday that it had created the first-ever App Growth Lab in Pakistan, after the opening of the Gaming Growth Lab in Pakistan last year.

The latter is a four-month initiative created to find high-potential app creators, studios, and enterprises aiming to expand and accelerate their operations. Google has pledged to support the local and international expansion of Pakistan’s app market with the launch.

The curriculum will give app developers the opportunity to learn from Google professionals in fields including Ads, AdMob, Firebase, gTech, and Play as well as Industry leaders through intense education and support phases.

“Today, we are proud to announce the launch of App Growth Lab to support up-and-coming local developers and help them expand their offerings to an international audience,” said Farhan S. Qureshi, Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

The App Growth Lab programme is built on four main pillars: discovering the global app and gaming opportunity to comprehend various levers to set the overall strategy for a company; bringing a user-centric mindset to app and game product development and leveraging best-in-class technology to set an app up for long-term success; discovering strategies to win the launch, setting up monetization models, and maximizing Google’s tools for data to achieve measurable growth; and learning new skills.

“The Gaming Growth Lab Pakistan 2022 is undoubtedly one of the most insightful programmes that we have attended so far in Game District,” said Saad Hameed, CEO of Game District.

The four-month programme will start in June and last until August. Organizations, app developers, and studios interested in applying may do so through May 22, 2023.
