
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived in India on Thursday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Goa.
The Foreign Minister is attending the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting at the invitation of India’s current Chair, Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs.
The workers of the Pakistani Commission in India, as well as the Indian authorities, greeted FM Bilawal Bhutto.
During his visit to India, Pakistan’s foreign minister will also hold meetings on the sidelines of the SCO meeting.
According to the Foreign Office Spokesperson, Pakistan’s participation in the meeting underlines the country’s commitment to the SCO Charter and processes, as well as the emphasis Pakistan places on the region in its foreign policy priorities.
Previously, the Foreign Minister attended the Council of Foreign Ministers’ last meeting in Tashkent in July of last year.
Since joining the SCO in 2017, Pakistan has actively and constructively participated in all SCO activities in order to achieve its multi-sectoral aims and objectives in a mutually beneficial manner.
The Foreign Minister will meet with his counterparts from friendly countries on the sidelines of the CFM summit.
