Electricity prices set to surge by Rs3.53 per unit

Sources said that plans were being made to raise the price of power, which is a worrying sign because it could make things harder for people who are already struggling with inflation.

As of now, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has officially asked for this increase in the monthly fuel cost change starting in October 2023. On November 29, NEPRA is set to review the application.

Consumers could have to pay an extra Rs40 billion if the increase is allowed.
