
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the date for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s general elections (KP).
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that general elections in KP will be held on October 8, with the poll scheduled to be released soon.

Previously, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Haji Ghulam Ali sent a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) requesting that elections be held on October 8.
The governor of KP proposed that general elections be held in the province on October 8, citing an increase in terrorism incidents. In his letter, he stated that terrorism incidents had increased in KP.
Terrorist attacks were carried out in South Waziristan on March 15 and Khyber district on March 19, according to Governor Ali, while three soldiers were killed in an attack in Dera Ismail Khan on March 22.
Brigadier Mustafa was killed and seven soldiers were injured in the March 21 Waziristan attack.
Governor Ali urged the ECP to hold general elections for the KP Assembly on October 8, which would be in the best interests of the people.
