ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar denied PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s request to dismiss the Toshakhana case against him and set May 10 as the date for his indictment.
The verdict was announced shortly after it was reserved by the court, and Imran was summoned in person on May 10.
Advocate Khwaja Haris argued for the admissibility of an ECP complaint and objected to the court’s jurisdiction.
Sections 190 and 193 of the Election Act were read aloud. He stated that the motion to challenge the case’s maintainability was submitted under Section 190A of the Election Act and that the sessions court could not consider the matter immediately.
The case being admissible and under trial are two distinct things, and if the case falls under Section 190, the court may hear it. PTI counsel provided the court with various references.
