Bilawal asks for a collective approach to take care of regional issue

TASHKENT: The region’s problems, particularly climate change, must be addressed as a whole, according to foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

In his remarks at the 26th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization on Tuesday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, he said the region’s countries needed to create a tactically effective emergency response system to deal with any future climatic crises. He pointed out how important the topic of climate cooperation is.

The foreign minister accepted Uzbekistan’s proposal to create a high-level dialogue platform for environmental cooperation inside the ECO framework.

FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made reference to the destruction brought on by the floods in Pakistan when he remarked that Pakistan’s urgent priority is to achieve quick economic growth and pull millions out of poverty and hunger. He asserted that in addition to rebuilding more effectively, we would also do so sustainably.

According to FM Bilawal, Pakistan thinks that the ECO, guided by common values of solidarity and mutual aid, has the strength to meet the difficulties. Together, we can and ought to change things.

The regional framework for advantageous trade among ECO members, according to the foreign minister, will benefit us in fostering collaboration. He declared that Pakistan will keep giving the ECO’s trade promotion and facilitation a high priority.
