ISLAMABAD: After Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif rejected his resignation, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was reappointed as the nation’s minister of law and justice on Wednesday.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Political Affairs Ayaz Sadiq was no longer “holding the portfolio of law and justice,” according to a letter from the federal government. Tarar was given the responsibility for law and justice.
According to sources close to Tarar, PM Shehbaz and PM Nawaz Sharif, both gave him the go-ahead to resume his duties as the law minister as of Tuesday.
He took the opportunity to speak with his bar colleagues, who advised him to take on more work from his previous portfolio.
It has been reported that a number of federal ministers paid Tarar a visit yesterday at his home in Islamabad and asked him to take over as the law minister.
