The huge expenditure of Avatar: The Way of Water is in the news. The budget for the movie is far more than anticipated.
On December 16, Avatar: The Way of Water, the follow-up to the 2009 film Avatar, will be released in theatres. The movie, which has been dubbed director James Cameron’s most costly and dangerous endeavor to date, has been dubbed one of the “most expensive” films ever filmed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the budget for Avatar: The Way of Water is in the $350 million to $400 million (£292.4 million to £334 million) range.
The next sequel, along with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Endgame, is among the costliest movies ever made due to its enormous budget. The first Avatar cost $237 million (£198 million).
According to the rumors, the sequel’s budget soared as a result of Cameron’s need for new technology to portray the film’s extensive underwater segments. In an interview with GQ, Cameron said that the production’s high costs led him to declare Avatar: The Way of Water to be “the worst business case in movie history.”
Cameron went on to say that the movie needed to become “the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history” in order to start earning back its production costs.
