LAHORE: Adnan Siddiqui, a well-known Pakistani actor, will return to the screen after a three-year absence in the short film “Jamun Ka Darakht,” which was also directed by Rafay Rashdi. The movie, in which Siddiqui portrays the character Kareem,
examines the intricate social dynamics in which people frequently conceal their true identities beneath a variety of masks.
Rashdi outlined how the film offers a unique viewpoint on the neutral oppression of consensual relationships between men and women. Along with a number of other actors, the cast also includes Maha Tahirani, Fouzia Aman, and Saman Ansari.
The hypocritical culture we live in, where morals is dwindling and irrational demands are made without any consideration, is reflected in this movie, according to Siddiqui. He thinks that the audience can be moved and influenced by his work, and that it is his social and moral duty to use his characters to spread a message.
The script for the film was written by Bee Gul, who also wrote Raqeeb Se. Rafay Rashdi Productions, Syed Murad Ali Presentations, and Faisal Kapadia produced the film. The film will not be screened in Pakistan, but the creators intend for it to receive an international release. Rashdi believes that by recognizing the problems and talking about them, they can open the door for important players in the sector.
The makers of the movie hope that it will eventually be screened in Pakistan because the subject matter of the movie covers a topic that hasn’t yet been addressed in Pakistan’s entertainment sector.
