
Imran Aslam, the group president of Geo and Jang, passed suddenly on Friday at the age of 70. The seasoned journalist, screenwriter, actor, voice actor, and leader of a TV network had been unwell for a while and was receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. In Madras, which is now known as Chennai, Aslam was born in 1952. He spent the 1970s studying in London.
The Geo launch team included him. Under his direction, Geo News, Geo Entertainment, and Geo Super were all introduced. The journalist for the visionary was also a founder member of the prestigious English daily The News in Pakistan.
He served as The News’ senior editor and chief news editor. Aside from journalism, Aslam also produced more than 60 popular plays for theatre and screen. The journalist’s brother, Riaz Aslam, said that their sister and Aslam’s kid will travel from London to attend the burial.
The funeral prayers for Imran Aslam will be offered following Asr’s prayers close to their home, according to his son Taimur, and the burial will take place in a cemetery in DHA, Phase 8.
