9 people martyred, 13 injured in Bolan blast

On Monday, an explosion near a truck of the Balochistan Constabulary in the Bolan district of Balochistan killed at least nine security personnel and injured six others.

According to Levies officials, the explosion happened at the Kambri bridge on the Quetta-Sibi highway and was directed at a security forces vehicle.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Bolan Mehmood Notizai, the explosion could have been a suicide attack.

Local administration and security forces arrived on the scene as soon as the incident was reported.

When the Balochistan Constabulary personnel were targeted, they were returning from duty in Sibi Mela. With the force of the explosion, the truck overturned.

The bodies and injured personnel were transported to Sibi, where they were treated. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition, which could increase the death toll.

In the hospitals of Quetta and Sibi, an emergency has been declared.

The attack comes just days after two Levies personnel were among six people killed in three separate attacks across Balochistan last week.

According to Levies force sources, four coal miners were killed when armed men opened fire at a mine in Harnai’s Khost district. The attack also injured three coal miners.

After spraying the mine with bullets, the attackers were able to flee. The injured coal miners were rushed to Harnai’s district headquarters hospital for treatment.
