LAKKI MARWAT: On Thursday, at least 17 persons were killed in a head-on collision between a van and a trawler on the Indus Highway near the Kohat Tunnel toll plaza.
The ill-fated vehicle was on its way to Peshawar from Lakki Marwat, according to details. It was struck by a trawler approaching from the opposite way.
Among those killed were the ladies and children on the coach. The accident harmed one person.
The collision was so violent that body pieces were all over the place.
Police and rescue personnel arrived at the scene of the accident and transported the corpses and injured to a hospital in Kohat.
Noor Rehman, Sailan, Akhtar Ali, Ashraf Ali, Adnan Khan, Irfan, Hameed, Aijaz, Sardar Ali, and driver Saifullah were among those killed. Three children and a woman were also killed.
Following the filing of a case, police began an investigation.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his sorrow over the accident’s loss of innocent lives.
The foreign minister stated in a statement that the agencies involved should take steps to avoid such blunders in the future.
